Tomorrow (11th March) I’ll be taking two horses across to the West Coast for the Westport and Reefton meetings on the grass.
At the Westport Trotting Club’s meeting on Friday, Kusanova lines up in Race 7 at 5.08pm. The mare’s been going good honest races and we expect that to continue over on the Coast. Regular reinsman Gavin Smith drives. Kusanova is pictured with connnections after her maiden win at Timaru.
Fun in The Dark is a newcomer to the stable who stepped out at the Methven trials last Saturday. From the unruly she tailed the field to the 400 metre mark and hit the line well. On Friday she'll run in Race 8 at 5.36 from an awkward draw. With Ricky May steering we’re looking forward to her first tote outing in the colours. Fun in The Dark has had a win and a placing from five starts at Patterson Park.
All going well both horses will back up at Reefton Trotting Club’s Sunday meeting.
